Drowning in yarn jargon; ply and thread count

Finding the right rug yarn can be quite challenging.  All the terms relating to thicknesses of rug yarn - counts, plys, ticket numbers?  This blogpost will give you a short introduction. Ply Ply stands for plied yarn. The number represents the amount of strings twisted around eachother. 3 PLY means three threads, resulting in the followjng cut: A high number of plys does not per se mean that the thread is thicker.
